SUMMARY:Winning the Ten Crucial Days: The Keys to Victory in George Washington's Legendary Winter Campaign
DESCRIPTION:The “Ten Crucial Days” winter campaign of 1776–77 is one 
 of the most storied in the annals of military history\, with some 
 historians arguing that it was the catalyst that lead to the the American 
 colonies ultimately achieving independence. The “Ten Crucial Days” were 
 the canvas on which a masterpiece of bold and enterprising leadership was 
 painted. It may have borne George Washington’s signature\, but the 
 brushes were furnished by the officers and common soldiers he commanded and 
 the coloration made vibrant by the hues from various contributing factors: 
 the quality of decision-making on both sides of the conflict\, the nature 
 of the terrain\, the effects of weather\, the roar of cannon fire\, and the 
 vagaries of fortune. Please join us as we kick off our NJ250 programming 
 series as historian David Price reexamines this period and provides new 
 context for its fundamental impact on our fight for independence.\n\nDavid 
 Price has been a historical interpreter for the Friends of Washington 
 Crossing Park since 2014 and leads guided tours focusing on the “Ten 
 Crucial Days” of the American Revolution and other historical aspects of 
 Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA)\, a registered National Historic 
 Landmark. He is also a historical interpreter at Princeton Battlefield 
 State Park (NJ) on behalf of the Princeton Battlefield Society. David was 
 awarded the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Bronze 
 Good Citizenship Medal in recognition of his work as an author\, speaker\, 
 and historical interpreter. A graduate of Drew University\, David holds an 
 M.A. in political science from Rutgers University—New Brunswick\, where 
 he was an Eagleton Fellow\, and worked as a nonpartisan research analyst 
 with the Office of Legislative Services of the New Jersey State Legislature 
 for 31 years.
