A Look Back at American History Through the Lens of Black Baseball

A Look Back at American History Through the Lens of Black Baseball Online

The history of Black baseball is the history of Black America and, by proxy, the history of America. Blackball was a cultural phenomenon that reflected the resilience and pride of African Americans in the face of the horrors of racial injustice and systemic discrimination perpetrated by segregation.

The historical significance of Black baseball cannot be overstated or overlooked. We hope you’ll join us to learn more.

Presenter: David J. Shuffler is not only an avid baseball fan; he is an amateur Negro and pre-Negro Leagues historian and an outspoken speaker on the legacy of Black baseball.

Hosted by the Long Hill Library.
